The court has granted a five-day remand to Aysha Siddika Minni for further interrogation in Barguna’s Rifat Sharif murder case.

On Wednesday, investigation officer Humayun Kabir appealed for seven-day remand by producing Minni before the Senior Judicial Magistrate Court of Barguna.

After hearing, Judge Mohammad Sirajul Islam Gazi granted a five-day remand.

Barguna Sadar police inspector (investigation) Humayun Kabir told Daily Bangladesh, “We have filed a seven-day remand petition for further interrogation in the court. The judge granted five-day remand.”

On Tuesday, about 13 hours after interrogation, the police accused Minni of being involved in the case and arrested her at around 9:30 pm.

“Minni was the sole witnesses and eyewitnesses of Rifat Sharif murder case. She was brought to Barguna police line on Tuesday morning for record and interrogation. During this, being skeptical of her conversation, she was shown arrest.
After Minni’s arrest, SP held a press conference around 9:30 pm.” said Barguna ASP Md Maruf Hossain.

SP Maruf said that the information collected from the sources and other sources has shown the involvement of Minni with the assassination.

Earlier, Minni was taken to the police line from her house in Barguna municipality’s Maitha area on Tuesday at around 10:15 am. During this, Minni’s father Mozammel Hossain Kishore has accompanied her.
