Minni came in the court premises with her father
Ayesha Siddika Minni, wife of the deceased Rifat and also the main accused in the murder case of Rifat Sharif in Barguna, came to the court with her father by motorcycle.
She came to the Barguna District Sessions Judge’s Court around 9:00 am on Wednesday. Her father and uncle were with her at the time. Earlier, at 8.30 am, she left home in the Nayakata Maitha area of Barguna municipal town for the court.
Barguna District and Sessions Judge Md. Ashaduzzaman will announce the verdict against 10 adults accused including Minni in the case.
On June 26, 2019, in front of Barguna Government College, Nayan Bond and his accomplices publicly hacked Rifat Sharif with machetes in broad daylight and seriously injured him. The injured Rifat later died at Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
On September 1, police filed a chargesheet against 24 people, including Rifat’s wife Minni, in the Rifat Sharif murder case in the Barguna Senior Judicial Magistrate’s Court. At the same time, the number one accused in the Rifat murder case, Nayan Bond, was killed in a gunfight, so he was acquitted.
On January 1, the Barguna District and Sessions Judge’s Court framed charges against 10 adults accused in the Rifat murder case. On the other hand, on January 8, the Barguna Children’s Court framed charges against 14 juveniles accused in the Rifat murder case.
One of the adults accused in the charge sheet of the case Md. Musa is still a fugitive. Besides, six juveniles, including Rifat's wife Minni, have been granted bail by the High Court and Barguna Juvenile Court.
