Ministry rules out exclusion of ‘Islamic education’ as baseless

The Ministry of Education has said that the information to exclude “Islamic education” from the education system or curriculum is baseless and rumored.
A press release from the Ministry of Education on Monday said that neither the ministry nor anyone concerned had commented on the — “exclusion of Islamic education from the secondary education system”.
According to the statement, a daily newspaper published news on 29 November titled “Education Minister’s statement an omen for Muslim nationalism in country”. It was said there – Islamic education will be excluded from the secondary education system – claimed Islami Oikya Andolan’s Amir Maulana Dr. Isha Shahedi at Jamiyate Talabaye Arabia conference, citing the ‘statement’ of Education Minister.
Mentioning this as “baseless and rumor”, the press release said, “In fact, no one in the Ministry of Education has ever commented on the exclusion of Islamic education from the secondary education system. Everyone is specially requested to refrain from spreading such rumors.”
