Met office predicts rain in 24 hours

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Monday predicted rain or thunder showers with temporary gusty or squally wind at one or two places over four divisions in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today.
"Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions as weather may remain mainly dry elsewhere over country," said a Met Office release issued this morning.
Meanwhile, a moderate heat wave is sweeping over the regions of Sitakunda and Rangamati and mild heat wave is sweeping over the regions of Dhaka, Tangail, Sandwip, Feni, Rajshahi, Pabna, Khulna and Kushtia and it may abate from some places.
Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may rise slightly over the country.
The country’s maximum temperature was recorded yesterday 38.5 degrees Celsius jointly at Sitakunda and Ranagamati under the Chattogram division while minimum temperature today was 16.1 degrees Celsius at Tetulia under the Rangpur division.
The highest rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6:00 am was recorded 23 millimeters (mm) at Cox’s Bazar.
Today’s sunset at 06:16 pm and tomorrow’s sunrise at 5:45 am at Dhaka.
