Meeting on decision to open educational institutions today

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed to review whether there is a situation to open educational institutions as the prevalence of coronavirus (Covid-19) was reduced than before. As per that directive, the Cabinet Division has called an inter-ministerial meeting on Saturday.
The meeting will be held in the Cabinet meeting room of the Secretariat in the capital.
Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam said the situation of reopening the educational institution would be discussed at the meeting today. A decision will be taken after considering the advice and overall issues of the concerned ministries.
The review meeting will be held with the Ministry of Secondary and Higher Education and Technical and Madrasa Education, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education and the Ministry of Health.
Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Zakir Hossain, Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury and concerned secretaries will be present at the meeting.
According to the concerned officials of the Ministry of Education, even if the educational institution is opened, SSC and HSC students will get this facility at the beginning. Other classes will also be introduced in phases. The decision was taken in consultation with the concerned ministry and the National Technical Advisory Committee on Covid-19.
Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni said that the government’s decision to open the educational institution will be announced after today’s review meeting.
