Mayor Annisul Huq’s death anniversary today

The third death anniversary of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) former mayor Annisul Huq is being observed today (Monday).
Special programmes have been organised by DNCC along with his family on the occasion of his death anniversary.
Anisul Huq’s son Navidul Huq said that his father's death anniversary is being observed a little differently this year due to coronavirus pandemic. Even after this, meals are being arranged for 2000 orphans in different orphanages in the capital. Besides, food will be distributed to various orphanages in the village. Special prayers (Dua-Mahfil) have been organized in several mosques there.
Anisul Huq breathed his last at a hospital in London on November 30 in 2017 at the age of 65 while undergoing treatment at a hospital in London. Later, he was laid to eternal rest at Banani graveyard on December 2.
He took oath as Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor on May 6, 2015.
Annisul was born on 27 October 1952 at Sonapur village under Sonagazi Upazila in Noakhali district. Moreover, Huq established his own business, Mohammadi Group in 1986.
He was the former president of several apex bodies including the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Federation of the Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and Independent Power Producers Association.
