A low has formed in the north-western Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas. It may cause stormy winds over the coastal, North Bay and seaports, said Meteorological Department on Monday. So Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra were advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal No. 3 while river ports were asked to display warning signal number 1.

It said coastal districts of Satkhira, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jhalokati, Pirojpur, Barguna, Patuakhali, Bhola, Barishal, Lakshmipur, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni, Chattogram, and Cox's Bazar and their Islands can be flooded by tidal waves 2 to 4 feet higher than the normal. Besides, Fishing trawlers and boats have been asked to remain close to the coast until further notice.

Weather forecast until 9 am said gusts of 45 to 60 kmph and thundershowers might be hit over the west or north-west part of the country, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dinajpur, Pabna, Bogura, Tangail, Mymensingh and Sylhet regions.

Elsewhere in the country, the weather will be mostly dry with partly cloudy skies.
