Many places likely to experience rain

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Tuesday predicted many parts over the country are likely to experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today. 

"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Sylhet and Dhaka divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at isolated places over the country," said a Met Office weather bulletin this morning. 

Besides, day temperature may fall slightly over southern part of the country and it may remain nearly unchanged elsewhere over the country and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the bulletin added.  

The country’s maximum temperature was recorded 33.8 degrees Celsius yesterday at Ishurdi in Rajshahi and today’s minimum temperature was recorded at 24.0 degrees Celsius at Sayedpur in Rangpur. 

Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6:00 am today was recorded 125 millimetres (mm) at Chattogram. 

The sun sets today at 06:40 pm and rises at 5:29 am tomorrow in the capital.
