Many places likely to experience rain

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Wednesday predicted that many places over the country are likely to experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today.  

"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; at many places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions and at a few places over Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country," said a Met Office release issued this morning.  

Besides, day temperature may fall slightly over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and it may remain nearly unchanged over Dhaka, Chattogram, Barishal and Khulna divisions. Night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country. 

Maximum temperature of the country was recorded by 34.8 degree Celsius yesterday at Jashore in Khulna while the lowest one was recorded today by 24.7 degree Celsius at Tetulia in Rangpur division. Country’s maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6:00 am today was recorded by 89 millimetres (mm) at Feni in Chattogram division.
