Many places likely to experience rain or thunder showers

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Wednesday said forecasted that many places over the country are likely to experience light to moderate rain or thunder showers with temporary gusty wind in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today.
"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rajshahi, Khulna and Barishal divisions; at many places over Rangpur, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions and at a few places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over south-western part of the country," said a Met Office release issued this morning.
Besides, day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the release added.
Meanwhile, the low pressure area over Northwest Bay and adjoining Bangladesh-West Bengal coast now lies over Gangetic west Bengal and adjoining northwest Bay as a well-marked low. The Depression over the North Andhra Pradesh coast and adjoining area now lies over Gujrat region as a well-marked low.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Gujrat, Maharastra, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, centre of the well-marked low to Assam across central part of Bangladesh.
Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over North Bay.
The country's maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded by 35.5 degrees Celsius at Tetulia in the Rangpur division and the minimum temperature today was recorded by 23.0 degrees Celsius in Khulna.
Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6:00 am today was 109 millimeters (mm) at Khepupara in Barishal division.
Today's sunset at Dhaka at 5:48 pm and tomorrow's sunrise will be at 5:50 am.
