Man City secured second place in this season`s EPL

Liverpool have already secured the English Premier League title earlier. But, another English giant Manchester City was trying and winning one after another match of the series to defend the second place. And finally, Manchester City has defeated Watford and secured the second place in the fourth consecutive victory in the English Premier League. Raheem Sterling, Phil Foden, and Aymeric Laporte gave City a 4-0 win over Watford on the day.

Sterling put the citizens ahead with a pair of goals in the 31st and 40th minutes of the first half of the match. After the break, Pep Guardiola’s side lost the title to Liverpool this season.

Phil Foden made it 3-0 in the 63rd minute. Three minutes later, the citizens celebrated for the fourth time with the goal of Emery Laporte.

City, who lost their league title this season, won their first home game against Watford 6-0 last September.

Man City has also set another record. With 12 goals against Watford, they have the record for most goals against a team in a single season in the Premier League.

Earlier, Blackburn Rovers scored 12 goals against Nottingham Forest in the 1995-96 season and Tottenham Hotspur scored 12 goals against Wigan Athletic in the 2009-10 season.

In the other match of the day, Arsenal lost to Aston Villa. Arsenal lost 1-0 to Aston Villa in the English Premier League last night. Earlier in September last, they won their first match in the league 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium.

Liverpool have already won the title with seven matches in hand in the league. Man City are second with 25 wins from 37 matches and 78 points from three draws. Chelsea are in third place with 63 points. Arsenal has dropped to tenth place with 53 points from 36 matches. Aston Villa, which tasted ninth victory, is in 17th place with 34 points.
