Mamunul on 15-day remand in five cases

Hefazat-e-Islam’s former joint secretary general Mamunul Haque
A Narayanganj court on Wednesday placed Hefazat-e-Islam’s former joint secretary general Mamunul Haque on a fresh 15-day remand, in five separate cases filed with Narayanganj's Sonargaon police station and Siddhirganj police station.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Ahmed Humayun Kabir passed the remand on Wednesday afternoon, said Narayanganj Court Police Inspector Asaduzzaman.
Previously, Mamunul was arrested from Jamiya Rahmaniya Arabia Madrasa in the capital’s Mohammadpur area on April 18 following Hefazat-e-Islam's mayhem in the capital, Brahmanbaria, and Hathazari
Mamunul Haque was first questioned on a seven-day remand after being arrested in a case filed with Mohammadpur Police Station in 2020. He was later arrested in two cases filed with Paltan and Motijheel police stations.
Besides, on April 30, Jannat Ara Jharna, his alleged second wife, filed a case against Mamunul Haque alleging seduction, cheating, and torture.
