Mamata’s cabinet to be sworn in on Monday

The swearing-in ceremony of the West Bengal state cabinet members has been deferred. The state cabinet members will take oath next Monday instead of Sunday. However, the swearing-in ceremony will be brief due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to local media, Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar will administer the oath to the ministers at Raj Bhavan at 11:00 am on Monday.
Earlier on Wednesday, Trinamool Congress chairperson Mamata Banerjee was sworn in as West Bengal Chief Minister for the third consecutive term.
The Trinamool Congress won 213 seats in the 294-member Assembly in the recent polls. The party’s vote share was at an all-time high of 47.9 %. The elected TMC legislators unanimously elected Ms. Banerjee as their leader on May 3.
