Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee has sworn in as the West Bengal Chief Minister for the third time today.

Mamata took the oath before Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar at Raj Bhavan in Kolkata around 10:50 am on Wednesday.

The Trinamool leader took the oath in the presence of a few people due to coronavirus.

Meanwhile, the remaining MLAs will take oath on May 6 and 7. Biman Banerjee will be the speaker of the assembly. Subrata Mukherjee will be in charge on the day of the election of the Speaker. However, no decision has been taken yet on who will be the minister. Mamata will decide her Cabinet members.

Earlier, Mamata said in Kalighat that the main task of her government after taking oath as chief minister would be to deal with the coronavirus situation in the state. After that, they will celebrate victory.

The Election Commission announced the results on May 2 after an 8-phase vote in West Bengal. The Trinamool Congress has come to power in West Bengal again by a huge margin, leaving the BJP far behind in the elections.

Out of 294 seats in the assembly, polls have been held in 292 seats. The Trinamool Congress won 213 seats, BJP won 77 seats, the Left Alliance and others won one seat each.
