Mamata greets Sheikh Hasina

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee congratulated Awami League President Sheikh Hasina on her re-election as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh. 

The West Bengal Chief Minister conveyed his greetings through twitter at around 10:51 pm on Sunday night. 

Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday morning phoned Sheikh Hasina and extended his heartfelt congratulations to her on securing her party’s absolute majority in the 11th parliamentary elections. 

Apart from this, BJP general secretary Ram Madhav has congratulated Sheikh Hasina. 

The Awami League-led Grand Alliance clinched a landslide victory with over two-thirds majority in the 11th general elections amid festivity. Of the Grand Alliance, the ruling Awami League alone got 259 seats while Jatiya Party 20 in the elections. 

The massive victory gave the Grand Alliance yet another chance to form the government for the third consecutive terms. The win also paved the way for Awami League President Sheikh Hasina to lead the government as Prime Minister for the fourth times and third times in a row.
