Mamata for cherishing good relations with Bangladesh

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has pledged to cherish good relations with neighboring Bangladesh. 

In reply to Foreign Minister Dr Abdul Momen's congratulatory message, Mamata Banerjee wrote: "Bangladesh is very close to us, we are very close to each other in our thoughts and feelings. We will cherish this good relationship with great care in the coming days."

Yesterday, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen congratulated West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her party Trinamool Congress for her resounding victory in the by-polls.

Referring to the congratulatory message sent by the foreign minister on Sunday, Mamata wrote in her letter- "I have received your greeting message. My sincere gratitude and thanks to you and all your family. The people of Bengal have put their trust in us, put it again. We will give due respect to this trust and love of the people, we will always be by their side in happiness and sorrow." 

Mamata Banerjee concludes her letter by wishing the Foreign Minister and her family members a healthy and beautiful life and best wishes for the Durga festival in the autumn.

Meanwhile, in a congratulatory message to Mamata Banerjee, the Foreign Minister expressed hope that in the interest of mutual welfare and development, Bangladesh's relations with West Bengal would be closer and complementary in future.
