Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah Riyad emphasized on reassessing the batting plan after his side's eight-wicket defeat to England in their second match of the Super 12 phase of the Twenty20 World Cup at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi today.

This was Bangladesh's second successive defeat following the five-wicket loss to Sri Lanka which almost left their aspiration to seal the semifinal sot in danger.

"Definitely, we were disappointed with the batting, it was a good wicket but we didn't start well and didn't have any partnerships in the middle either," Mahmudullah said after the match.

Bangladesh won the crucial toss and as it was expected they chose to bat first. But the batters seemed to lack a proper execution of the shot as they were restricted to a below par 124-9.

England raced to the victory with plenty overs remaining as they sealed the deal by making 126-2 in just 14.1 overs. Jason Roy led the charge with a marauding 38 ball-61 that included five fours and three sixes.

What hurt Bangladesh was that most of their batters including Mahmudullah got a start but simply failed to carry it.

"We've been lacking a good start, on these wickets it gets difficult later on. We are more skilled hitters than power hitters, we don't want to change that because we believe we can post good totals. (But) we need to reassess and come up with a good plan," he added.

Bangladesh will take on West Indies in their next match on Friday at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The Caribbean side also tasted defeats in both of their games at the hands of England and South Africa.
