Moinuddin Khan Badal, a Member of Parliament from Chattogram-8 constituency, passed away (Inna lillahi wa Inna ilayhi raji'un) at a hospital in Bangalore of India on Thursday morning. He was 67.  

He breathed his last at 7:45 am while undergoing treatment at Dr Devi Shetty's Narayana Institute of Cardiac Sciences in Bommasandra, Bangalore, India.

Badal's younger brother Moniruddin Khan, president of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) Boalkhali unit, confirmed the matter. 

He said that Badal was suffering from ill-health after a stroke two years ago. Two weeks ago, he was taken to India for a regular health checkup. He died while undergoing treatment there. The bodies of the deceased will be brought to the country as soon as possible, Moniruddin added.   

He is survived by his wife, two sons, a daughter, a number of grand children and host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.

Badal served as the Executive President of the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD). He was elected Member of Parliament from Chattagram-8 constituency (Boalkhali-Chandgaon) three terms as Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal candidate. 

The veteran lawmaker was born in Satelee village in Boalkhali of Chattagram on February 21, 1952.
