MMCH COVID unit sees 17 more deaths

The COVID unit of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital has registered 17 more deaths in the last 24 hours till Sunday morning.
Among the deaths, six tested positive for Covid-19 and the rest displayed symptoms consistent with the disease.
Dr Mohiuddin Khan Moon, focal person of the hospital's Covid unit has confirmed the information on Tuesday (August 3) morning.
Two people from Mymensingh, two from Netrokona, one from Narsingdi and one from Dinajpur died from COVID-19 at the hospital during the 24 hours from 8:00 am on Monday to 8:00 am on Tuesday. Besides, eight of the deceased, who had been suffering from COVID symptoms, were from Mymensingh, two from Netrokona and one from Tangail.
Dr. Mohiuddin Khan Moon said 551 people are now undergoing treatment at MMCH's Corona unit against 230 seats. Of these, 22 are in ICU. A total of 88 people have been admitted in the last 24 hours while 52 patents have returned home after recovering.
