MC College gang rape: Rony, Rajan, Aynul on 5-day remand

A court has placed three accused - Mahbubur Rahman Roni, Rajon and Aynul on a five-day remand in a case filed over the gang rape of a woman after tying up her husband at the dormitory of Murari Chand (MC) College in Sylhet.
Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate court no-2 judge Saifur Rahman granted five-day remand each for the accused.
Public prosecutor APP Khokon Kumar Dutt confirmed the information and said that the investigation officer of the case had sought seven days to interrogate the accused. After the hearing, the court granted a 5-day remand.
Earlier, the Shahparan (R) police of Sylhet Metropolitan Police produced the accused in the court premises amid tight security at 11:15 am.
On Monday, the same court placed prime accused M Saifur Rahman, Arjun Laskar and Rabiul Islam on a five-day remand in the case.
Earlier on Friday evening, the couple from Shibbari area of South Surma visited the MC College campus. At that time, Saifur and his associates took the woman and her husband to the nearby college hostel, where they tied up the husband and raped the woman. On information, police rescued the rape victim and her husband.
Later, the victim's husband filed the case with the Sylhet Metropolitan Police's Shahparan police station on Saturday morning, naming six people. Three more unnamed persons have been accused in the case.
