The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today has asked Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra seaports to hoist local cautionary signal no. 3.

The Met Office said this in a warning message on Saturday.

The warning said all fishing boats and trawlers stationed in the North Bay have been asked to proceed cautiously from near the coast until further notice.

The warning message further said that a low pressure has formed in the Northwest Bay and adjoining coastal areas. As a result, deep convection has been forming in the North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh. Squally weather is likely to take effect in the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining areas.
