Light to moderate rain likely

Bangladesh Metrological Department (BMD) on Sunday predicted that many places over the country are likely to experience light to moderate rain or thunder showers with the temporary gusty wind in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 today. 

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur division; at a few places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Sylhet and Chattogram divisions; and at one or two places over Khulna, Rajshahi and Barishal divisions with moderately falls at isolated places over the country,” said a BMD release issued this morning. 

Besides, day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the release added. 

As an outlook for the next 72 hours, the bulletin predicted that the rainfall activity may increase further. 

The maximum temperature in the country was recorded on Saturday 36.2 degree Celsius at Rajshahi and the minimum temperature today was recorded 25.7 degree Celsius at Teknaf in Chattogram division. 

Maximum rainfall was recorded 20 millimetres (mm) at Barishal’s Khepupara in the last 24 hours till 6:00 am today. 

The sun sets at 6:36 pm today and rises at 5:32 am tomorrow in the capital.
