The rainfall activity in the country will be increased within 72 hours or three days, said the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Sunday in a weather bulletin.

According to the country’s Met Office, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Chattogram division and at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Barishal and Sylhet divisions

Besides, moderately heavy to heavy rainfalls are likely to occur at a few places over Rajshahi and Khulna divisions and at isolated places over the country.

“Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country,” it added.

Meanwhile, the well-marked low over Bihar and the adjoining area now lie over Uttar Pradesh and adjoining area and the axis of monsoon trough has been running through Rajsthan, Haryana, the center of the well-marked low, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal to Assam across the southern part of Bangladesh. So, one of its associated troughs has extended up to North Bay. As a result, the monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.

The country’s maximum temperature was recorded at 33.7°C yesterday at Rajshahi district while today’s minimum temperature was recorded at 25.0°C at Hatiya and Kutubdia in the Chattogram division.

Today’s sunset will be at 6:43 pm and tomorrow’s sunrise will be at 5:28 am.
