Light to moderate rain likely at many places

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Monday predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers at many places over the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9 am today.
"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is also likely to occur at many places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Rangpur and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at some places over the country," said a Met Office bulletin issued this morning.
Meanwhile, a mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over the Khulna division and the districts of Tangail, Faridpur, Gopalgonj, Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajgonj and Dinajpur and it may abate at some places.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the bulletin added.
Country’s maximum temperature was recorded on Sunday 38.4 degrees Celsius at Jessore and minimum temperature today 22.8 degrees Celsius at Sandwip
Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6:00 am today was recorded 129 millimetres (mm) at Teknaf.
The sun sets at 6:45 PM today and rises at 5:11 AM tomorrow at Dhaka.
