Light to moderate rain likely; Day temp to rise slightly

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur over the country in the next 24 hours ending 9:00 am tomorrow. Besides, the day temperature may rise slightly over the country during the period.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said this in a weather bulletin issued on Friday.
According to the Met Office, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Chattogram, Barishal and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy falls at isolated places over the country.
Although the day temperature may rise slightly, the night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the weather forecast also said.
The country’s Met Office said the axis of the monsoon trough runs through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across
the central part of Bangladesh, as a result, one of its associated troughs has been extended up to North Bay.
“Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay,” the weather bulletin added.
The country’s maximum temperature was recorded 35.7°C yesterday at Rajshahi district while today’s minimum temperature was recorded 24.5°C at Feni in Chattogram division.
Today’s sunset at Dhaka will be at 6:50 pm and tomorrow’s sunrise at Dhaka will be at 5:13 am.
