Light to moderate rain likely

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Wednesday predicted light to moderate rain or thunder showers at many places over the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today. 

"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at isolated places over the country," said a Met Office weather bulletin this morning. 

Besides, day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the
country, the bulletin added.  

The country’s maximum temperature was recorded 35.6 degrees Celsius yesterday at Tetulia in Rangpur and today’s minimum temperature was recorded at 24.7 degrees Celsius at Rajarhat in Rangpur. 

Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6:00 am today was recorded 125 millimetres (mm) at Cox’s Bazar in Chattogram. 

The sun sets today at 06:40 pm and rises at 5:29 am tomorrow in the capital.
