Legendary subcontinent musician S. P. Balasubrahmanyam dies at 74

Prominent musician and actor of the subcontinent Sripathi Panditaradhyula Balasubrahmanyam, also known as S. P. Balasubrahmanyam has passed away at a Chennai hospital on Friday. He was 74.
Confirming the matter, His son S.P. Charan said his father breathed his last at 1:04 pm. “SPB is for everyone, he will live through his music.”
The playback musician has sung more than “40,000 songs in 16 languages” in the subcontinent. He also acted in important roles in many movies. He is listed in the Guinness World Records for his unique achievement of singing in more than 40,000 songs.
According to hospital sources, Balasubrahmanyam was admitted to the hospital on August 5. He was then taken to life support on August 14. He was suffering from severe Covid-19 pneumonia, however, recovered on September 4. He then breathed his last on Friday afternoon despite being on the highest life support.
The renowned won six National Film Awards for Best Playback Musician. Besides, he won Nandi Awards for 25 times. He has been awarded the prestigious Padma Shri (2001) and Padma Bhushan (2011) by the Government of India.
