Lebanon’s Foreign Minister Nassif Hitti has resigned over disagreements with the government.
He submitted his resignation letter to Prime Minister Hassan Diab on Monday, according to Russian media outlet Sputnik News.
Nasif has been at loggerheads with the current Lebanese government for some time. He even distanced himself from Prime Minister Diab.
Citing Sky News Arabia, Sputnik said Nasif, who was appointed in January 2020, blamed the government for the country’s ongoing economic crisis, starting with policy-making issues. His disagreement with the government increased a lot.
