Lawsuit filed against 7 incl E-orange owner Sonia; Tk 9.5cr embezzled

A lawsuit has been filed against seven people including Sonia Mahjabeen, owner of e-commerce platform E-orange, for embezzling Tk 9,53,51,000 from 27 customers through fraud.
On behalf of the victims, Md. Nasim Pradhan filed the lawsuit as the main plaintiff at the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Morshed Al Mamun Bhuiyan on Sunday, confrimed plaintiff’s lawyer Sunny Obaid.
On the day, the court accepted the statement of the plaintiff. After the hearing, the court directed the Gulshan police station to accept the statement of the case as an “FIR”.
The other accused in the case are – Sonia Mahjabeen’s husband Masukur Rahman, Sheikh Sohail Rana, Md. Aman Ullah Chowdhury, Zaidul Firoz, Nazneen Nahar Bithi alias Bithi Akhter and Nazmul Hasan Russell.
According to the case statement, the accused in the case, who are also the officials of e-commerce platform E-orange, offered various temptations on their website to sell various products at a low cost by accepting the price in advance in return for the ordered product.
The lawsuit also alleges that they received a total of Tk 9,53,51,079 from order products of 27 plaintiffs and they also received receipts, however, E-orange delayed delivering the products, instead of, the accused went into hiding by suspending the delivery of all kinds of goods and embezzled money.
