Language hero Saeed Haider dies of COVID-19

Language Movement hero and physician Dr. Saeed Haider died of coronavirus.
He died at Uttara Crescent Hospital in the capital on Wednesday afternoon. He is supposed to be buried at Sector 4, Uttara after Maghrib prayers.
Dr. Saeed Haider's eldest son, Professor Dr. Ashraf Haider, Eye Department of Bardem Hospital confirmed this information to media.
Saeed Haider was born in 1925 in Pabna. He passed IA from Kolkata Presidency College. Although he was admitted to Kolkata Medical College, he studied at Dhaka Medical College after Partition. He was the eldest among his classmates.
He was an active participant in the language movement. On the night of 23 February, the students of Dhaka Medical College built the first Shaheed Minar and it was designed by Badrul Alam. He was assisted by Saeed Haider, which was destroyed by the Pakistan army on 26 February.
