La Liga restarts from June 8

All sports activities are closed due to ongoing coronavirus pandemic but European top leagues authorities are trying to bring football back to the field. The footballers of all the La Liga teams including Real Madrid and Barcelona have returned to practice. La Liga has been given the green light to restart from June 8, following guidelines from Spain's Ministry of Health.

The Spanish government declared off all games to deal with the epidemic coronavirus on March 23. Earlier, La Liga president Javier Tebas announced the restart of La Liga from June 12.

However, no spectators will be able to watch the matches in the stadium even if they return to La Liga on June 8.

"I know the Spanish people have done what they should have done," said Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez. And now it's time to restart all over again. It's time to dump all and move on. La Liga will restart from June 8.

The Segunda Division - Spain's second tier - has also been cleared to resume on the same date.

Earlier, the German Bundesliga started on May 16.
