Killer Majed`s death warrant issued

Murderer Abdul Majed
The death warrant for the Bangabandhu's killer Abdul Majed's has been issued by the court. Abdul Majed was taken from jail to court on Wednesday afternoon. Later, around 1:30 pm, the Dhaka District and Sessions Judge Court issued the death warrant.
Earlier, on Monday night, at around 3:30 am, one of Bangabandhu's murderers, Captain (retd) Abdul Majed, was arrested in Mirpur. The Ministry of Home Affairs confirmed the information to the media at around 11am on Tuesday. Captain Majed had fled for a long time.
Earlier, on January 28,2010, trial of five killers of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman were executed. They are - Lieut. Colonel Syed Farouq Rahman, Lt. Col. Sultan Shahriar Rashid Khan, Major Bazlul Huda, Lt. Colonel Mohiuddin Ahmed (Artillery) and Lt. Colonel AKM Mohiuddin Ahmed (Lancer).
Also, out of the 12 people, 5 are still fled abroad. They are - Colonel Khandaker Abdul Rashid, Lt. Colonel Shariful Haque Dalim, Lt. Colonel AM Rashed Chowdhury, Risaldar Moslem Uddin, Lt. Col. SH Nur Chowdhury.
On August 15, 1975, a group of distracted army men killed Bangabandhu along with his wife Fazilatunnesa Mujib, and children at the house of at Dhanmondi 32. 21 years after the incident, the case was filed regarding the assassination in 1996 when the Awami League in power. 24 people were charged. The judicial court sentenced 15 accused to death in this case. Later, the Appellate Division upheld the death sentence of 12 people.
