Khulna division sees 27 COVID deaths in 24hrs

Khulna division has registered a number of 28 Covid-19 deaths and 998 infections in the last 24-hour till Tuesday morning.
The highest number of deaths and identities have been reported in the Khulna district and metropolis.
Rasheda Sultana, Director of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in Khulna, confirmed the information on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Divisional Health Director's Office, nine people have died in Khulna, five in Kushtia, four each in Jashore and Bagerhat, three in Narail and two in Meherpur in the last 24 hours.
Earlier on Monday (June 21), 12 people died and 945 were diagnosed with the virus in the division. In the previous 24 hours on Sunday (June 20), 28 persons died of Covid-19 in 24-hour in the division, the highest ever fatalities in a day.
The first coronavirus patient was detected in Khulna division on March 19 last year in Chuadanga. A total of 46,985 confirmed cases have been registered in 10 districts of the division since the beginning of coronavirus outbreak as of Tuesday morning. The death toll has risen to 864 while 34,948 people returned home after recovered from coronavirus in the division.
