Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is to lead Zummah prayer today in the capital Tehran 8 years later since 2012.

Iran is now in a serious crisis over Ukraine's plane crash. There has been intense protests all over the country. Therefore, the country's leaders are in extreme despair and hesitation. It is believed that Khamenei will not give a directional statement to the nation on this including other crises after the prayers.

Ukraine International Airlines flight PS752 crashed in Tehran soon after Trump’s assassination of Iran’s top general Qasem Soleimani. The tragedy killed 176 people, mostly Iranians and Canadians. Western countries claim the aircraft crashed on Iran's missile. The Iranian military, however, refuses for some time but eventually gives the humanitarian interpretation.

Khamenei last delivered a Friday sermon in February 2012 when he called Israel a “cancerous tumour” and vowed to support anyone confronting it. He also warned against any US strikes on Iran over its nuclear program, saying the US would be damaged “10 times over”.
