As per the directives of the Supreme Court’s Appellate Division, the medical report of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia was supposed to be submitted on Thursday but the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) authorities could not submit the report as it was not complete. Later, the prosecutor’s Attorney general Mahbubey Alam sought time before the court on Khaleda’s health information. During this, the Chief Justice has fixed December 12 for submitting the report.

On Thursday, Khaleda Zia’s health report was supposed to be submitted alongside her Zia Charitable Trust graft case. Later, that was deferred.

Earlier, on November 28, a six-judge appellate bench headed by the Chief Justice directed the medical board to submit a report by December 5 seeking information on Khaleda Zia’s condition.

Khandaker Mahbub Hossain, Moudud Ahmed and Zainul Abedin were in favor of Khaleda Zia in the court. Khurshid Alam Khan was present for the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC). Attorney General Mahbubey Alam was present for the state.

On November 7, a bail petition was filed at the concerned branch of the Appellate Division.

On February 8, 2018, Khaleda Zia was jailed for five years in the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case. After the appeal in the High Court that was increased to 10 years.

Later on November 18, 2018, Khaleda Zia filed bail in the Appellate Division seeking acquittal. However, her lawyers have not yet submitted her petition to the court.
