BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, who has been infected with coronavirus, has been admitted to Evercare Hospital at Bashundhara residential area in the capital.
She was admitted around 12:00 am on Tuesday, confirmed Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon, Khaleda Zia’s lawyer and the party’s joint secretary general.
He said the BNP chairperson will be in the hospital. The next decision will be taken on Wednesday after analyzing the report of the CT scan and other tests. However, her physical condition is very good.
Earlier, the car carrying Khaleda left her Gulshan residence for Evercare Hospital at around 9:30 pm for a second CT scan. The car reached the hospital at around 10:01 pm.
As Khaleda Zia’s second COVID test report came positive, some more tests were needed. As a result, she was taken to the hospital, said Khaleda Zia’s physician Dr. FM Siddiqui. “Khaleda Zia’s CT scan will be done today too. She will return home at night after the checkup is over.”
Khaleda Zia underwent a CT scan at Evercare Hospital on April 15. Her personal doctors then said that Khaleda Zia had a “very minimal” infection in her lungs on a CT scan – which doesn’t really fall into the mild stage. As a result, new antibiotics have been added to Khaleda Zia’s previous medicines.
Khaleda Zia was tested positive for the coronavirus on April 11. Besides her, eight other personal staff of the residence ‘Firoza’ were also infected. Their treatment is going on at home.
