Former national cricket team skipper Khaled Mashud Pilot will run in the upcoming Bangladesh Cricket Board of directors’ election. It is learned that he has collected nomination papers to be elected as director from Rajshahi division. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Executive Council polls will be held on October 6.

Khaled Mashud Pilot said that if he gets the help of 8 councilors of Rajshahi division and is elected as the board director, he will try his best for the development of cricket in Rajshahi.

"I was very keen to work with cricket," Pilot said. I have been working in the field, at the root level since retirement. I have collected nomination papers from Rajshahi division. I hope I will win. If the councilors of Rajshahi division help me, I hope I will elect director. I hope I can share my experience with the board.

The former national team skipper said, "Rajshahi's cricket infrastructure is not good which is very sad. Play is also not held in all districts. Again umpires, coaches have less opportunity. If the councilors of that district of Rajshahi consider me a worthy person, I would like to share my cricketing experience and thoughts with the board."

"The way we are going is a very slow process. I want to apply the whole of my talent. I spent the whole time on the field. Every man hopes we will do something. From that sense of responsibility, I think this is the best time. I want to show as a pilot project what the cricket culture of a department should be like, Khaled Mashud added."
