US Vice President Kamala Harris has taken the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine on Tuesday. The whole process was broadcasted live on television.
During this, she urged the Americans to get the vaccine while receiving the vaccine from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
“I urge everyone to get vaccinated when it’s your turn,” said Kamala Harris. “Everyone should take the vaccine when the time comes. It will save your life.”
The use of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines for emergency use was approved in the United States last December. The US administration has been vaccinating millions of people every day for the past few weeks.
New US President Joe Biden says his administration will vaccinate 100 million people in the first 100 days of his presidency. Meanwhile, the White House said in a press release that the Biden administration is working to purchase another 200 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
