Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) brought Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan for INR 3.2 crores. So the southpaw back to his former Indian Premier League (IPL) team, where he played for six consecutive seasons. Then he played two seasons for Sunrisers Hyderabad.  

To rope Shakib KKR now made the opening bid. Then Punjab Kings also bid for Shakib for 2.2 crores. KKR push the bid to 2.4 crores. Kumble and Zinta have an intense discussion at their table and raise it to 2.6 crores. KKR raises the paddle again, as do Punjab Kings. Punjab needs a finger spinner, but they let go of Shakib and KKR rope the tiger all-rounder for INR 3.2 crore.

Shakib, who last featured in the IPL in 2018 when Sunrisers Hyderabad bought him for INR 2 crore. 

Shakib was in the 2nd set of the auction along with players like David Malan, Glenn Maxwell, Chris Morris, Shivam Dubey, and Kedar Yadav. 

Glenn Maxwell was the first to be named. KKR showed the first interest in this cricketer. Later, CSK and RCB bid for the Australian. Finally, Glenn Maxwell sold to RCB for 14.25 crore.
