RAB arrested Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan, the organizing secretary of the Dhaka Metropolitan South Juba League, in a raid in the capital’s Fakirapul area this evening.

RAB's Media Branch Director Sarwar Bin Kashem said Khaled was arrested at Gulshan's residence on Wednesday evening. Earlier,  in the afternoon, RAB members launched a raid on Khaled's residence at Gulshan-2 and Young Men’s Club in Fakirapool.

Senior Assistant Director of RAB's Law and Media Branch Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan told the DailyBangladesh that Khaled was arrested on various charges including illegal casino business, drug and gambling accommodation. An illegal weapon, bullets, and drugs were recovered from him. In addition, two more weapons were seized due to breach of license condition.

In the evening, 142 people including two women were arrested from the club and taken to Uttara RAB headquarters. A large amount of alcohol is available at the club. 24 lakhs taka were also recovered from there, said Sarwar bin Kashem.

Khaled Mahmood Bhuiyan, who grew up in the railway colony of Shahjahanpur, is the president of the club.
