Juba Dal leader Abdullah Al Mamun expelled

Juba Dal leader Abdullah Al Mamun Hira has been expelled for contesting the mayoral polls in Sylhet's Zakiganj municipality not following the party's decision.

Advocate Azizur Rahman, central office secretary of Juba Dal, confirmed the development today. 

According to the notification, former president of the municipal BNP and former mayor Iqbal Ahmed is running for the post of mayor of Zakiganj municipality with the symbol of a paddy sheaf. 

Meanwhile, Abdullah Al Mamun Hira has become a rebel candidate disobeying the party's decision. He is a member of the convening committee of Sylhet District Juba Dal and former convener of Zakiganj Upazila Chhatra Dal.

It is learned that under the direction of BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Juba Dal central president Saiful Alam Nirab and general secretary Sultan Salauddin Tuku expelled him.
