Al-Nahian Khan Joy and Lekhak Bhattacharya have been given full responsibility for the ruling party Awami League’s student wing Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL). Awami League President Sheikh Hasina declared them full-in-charge of Bangladesh Chhatra League from the acting posts of president and secretary in a program on the occasion of the 72nd founding anniversary of the organization held in the capital’s Suhrawardy Udyan on Saturday.

Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader proposed to make the two leaders full in-charge from the acting position while BCL organizational leader and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina approved it.

Earlier, Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shobhan and Golam Rabbani lost the posts of the president and general secretary of the BCL Central Committee. Later Joy took over the responsibility as acting president and Lekhak Bhattacharya as acting general secretary.

Later, the two leaders caught the attention of the Awami League High Command through their different appreciable activities and simple lifestyle. They have made themselves more acceptable to the leaders by expelling the 32 central BCL leaders for contentious and intrusive charges.
