United States President Joe Biden’s Special Envoy for Climate John Kerry has arrived in Dhaka to invite Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for a climate conference on April 22-23. 

He landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in the capital on a special US air force from Delhi at around 11:30 am on Friday.

Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen welcomed John Kerry at the airport.

Bangladesh is one of the countries affected by climate change. Bangladesh is currently the chairman of the Climate Vulnerable Forum.

According to diplomatic sources, Kerry will discuss the risks and challenges of climate change during his visit to Dhaka. He will take part in a joint press conference with Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen at noon.

John Kerry arrived in Dhaka on a one-day visit on 23 August 2016 while he was the US Secretary of State.
