Jewel Aich recovers COVID-19, discharged from hospital

Freedom fighter and Ekushey Padak-awardee magician Jewel Aich has recovered from COVID-19 and returned home after treatment at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the capital on Saturday afternoon. 

Confirming the matter, Jewel Aich’s wife Bipasha Aich said, “Jewel Aich is now out of danger. His condition is also quite good. So the doctors gave him a discharge.” 

Now he has to follow the doctors’ advice and must rest for several days, she said.

Jewel Aich contracted a fever on 4 November. He later gave a sample for the COVID-19 test and tested positive for the virus. His wife, daughter also contract COVID. Although they recovered, Jewel Aich’s condition deteriorated, as a result, he was admitted to a hospital in the capital on Monday. From there, he was later admitted to the CMH hospital and shifted to ICU.
