Jaya’s ‘Kontho’ released in Bangladesh

Kolkata movie ‘Kontho’ has been released in 22 theaters of Bangladesh. Directed by Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy, ‘Kontho’ is one of the most successful and acclaimed films, released in West Bengal this year. In Bangladesh, Impress Telefilm supervised the film.

Jaya Ahsan acted as a teacher and, who appears as a voice therapist and trains the RJ to communicate. The director Shiboprosad Mukherjee himself took the role of RJ whereas actress Paoli Dam appeared as his wife in the movie.

Referring to the film, Joy Ahsan said, "Kontho’is not just for cancer patients, who are lost and drowning in depression during the life struggle for them also. This film is life-giving. But I especially want cancer patients to see the film.”

In Dhaka, the movie ‘Kontho’ has been released in- STAR Cineplex(Bashundhora City, Panthapath), STAR Cineplex(Shimanto Shambhar), STAR Cineplex (SKS Tower, Mohakhali), Blockbuster Cinemas (Jamuna Future Park), Balaka Cineworld (New Market), Madhumita (Motijheel), Shyamoli Cinemas (Shyamoli).

Outside Dhaka at Silver Screen (Chattogram), Cinema Palace (Chattogram), Almas (Chattogram), Barsha (Joydebpur), Champakali (Tongi), Mom In (Bogura), Chhayabani (Mymensingh), Oviruchi Cinema (Barishal), Monihar (Jessore ), Rupakatha (Pabna), Sonia (Bogura), Shankha (Khulna), Liberty (Khulna), Modern (Dinajpur) and Nandita (Sylhet) the film has been released.

Conversely, under the SAFTA agreement, Bangladeshi film ‘Khacha’ will be released in West Bengal.
