JUST student suspended over religious criticize

Mithun Mandal, a first-year student of the Department of Finance and Banking, Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST), has been suspended.
His studentship was canceled due to his abusive, vulgar and offensive remarks on religious matters. At the same time, a notice has been issued to show cause that why his studentship will not be canceled permanently.
The decision to cancel his studentship was taken at an emergency meeting of the university's deans committee, teachers and officials' association at the VC's office on Monday morning. JUST VC Professor Dr. Anwar Hossain presided over the meeting.
At the meeting, the university administration decided to file a case against Mithun Mandal under the existing law including the Digital Security Act and to assist the law enforcement agencies in this regard. A four-member probe committee has also been formed into the incident where Prof Dr. Mehedi Hasan, the Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies is the convener.
Other committee members are Dr. Sumon Chandra Mohant, the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Amjad Hossain, General Secretary of Teachers Association and Nazrul Islam, the Vice President of Teachers Association.
The committee has been asked to submit a probe report within the next seven working days. After receiving the probe report, the university administration will take the final action against him.
