The National Parliament today passed Higher Secondary Education Bill-2021 to publish the HSC and its equivalent examinations-2020 results. The results will be announced soon after the gazette is passed.

The bill was passed unanimously after Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni placed the bill at the National Assembly.

Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury presided over the Parliament session.

Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni said the bills will be sent for approval from president M Abdul Hamid. After the president's sign, the results will be published.

Earlier, on Tuesday the Parliamentary Standing Committee on education ministry Okayed three bills after review.

These amendments for publication of the results were needed since the HSC and its equivalent examinations could not be held last year due to the Covid-19 situation.

Parliament sent three bills to the standing committee hours after Education Minister Dipu Moni placed them before it with a two-day time for review.

The committee conducted the review in a meeting chaired by Fazle Hossain Badsha, a senior member of the parliamentary body.

The coronavirus, that first reported in China late last year, is now affecting 218 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances.

Bangladesh government was forced to declared national holiday in all educational institutions at the end of March 2020. Since then, the educational institutions have been conducting online education activities. However, no public examinations have been conducted in the last one year to prevent corona infection.
