Italy denies 125 Bangladeshis to get off from plane

A total of 125 Bangladeshis are not being allowed to get off from a Qatar Airways flight landing at Fiumicino International Airport in Rome, Italy. As of now, Bangladeshi passengers are staying on the flight. The plane is at terminal number five of the airport.

This information was given in a report of the local media Il Messaggero on Wednesday. The Qatar Airways flight carrying Bangladeshis departed from Doha for Fiumicino International Airport in Italy.

According to Il Messaggero, the Italian Ministry of Interior denied entry to 125 Bangladeshi passengers of the Qatar Airways plane in the country. They can't even get off the plane. However, they will be allowed to get off if emergency medical services are needed.

Earlier, Italy barred flights from Bangladesh for a week after several Bangladeshi passengers on Monday's flight repatriating stranded citizens to the European country tested positive for Covid-19 on arrival.

Qatar Airways authorities said the plane did not come to Rome from Dhaka and Bangladeshi passengers should be allowed to get off the plane. Qatar Airways is following all rules and regulations of the Italian government and INAC regarding aviation.

Although the 80 passengers from other countries were allowed to get off of the same flight, Bangladeshi passengers will be sent back to Doha at 4 pm local time in Rome.

There are some Italian passengers on the flight. A passenger who arrived in Italy via Doha from Thailand asked why they were traveling with Bangladeshi passengers; That is not clear. “We are concerned,” he said. The Italian said his sample was taken at Fiumicino International Airport.
