The children are not being given the vaccine at the moment as the issue of vaccinating them is “sensitive”, said Prof. Dr. ABM Khurshid Alam, director general (DG) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

He made the remarks while handing over Pfizer’s vaccine at the  Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) building on Tuesday afternoon.

At the time, the DGHS DG said we are giving vaccines in the places wherever Pfizer is being rolled out.

“We have minimal capacity to store vaccines in ultra-cold chains,” he also said, adding that it will be possible to store any type of vaccine in the future.
