Israeli occupational forces dropped 122 bombs on the besieged Gaza Strip in just 25 minutes between 10:00 pm to 10:30 pm on Tuesday. Israel has continued its air raids in the Gaza Strip since early Wednesday, the tenth day of the bombing.
“Israel had carried out airstrikes targeting a key Hamas tunnel since 10pm on Tuesday,” reports Al Jazeera, citing the Times of Israel.
Israeli army spokesman Hidai Zilberman acknowledged the bombings.
Al Jazeera reports that “four Palestinians were killed” in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza on Wednesday morning.
Local media reports say that Israel has continued its airstrikes in Gaza since dawn. A bomb blast near a residential building in Gaza has killed at least four Palestinians – one of them is a journalist. Three more people in the building were injured in the attack. Most of the building has collapsed.
In retaliation, Hamas fired rockets at various Israeli cities. However, many local media outlets have reported that many rockets were destroyed by Israel’s air defense system, the Iron Dome.
So far, 220 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes. Among them are 63 children and more than 100 women.
Meanwhile, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has called on the international community to send relief supplies and emergency needs to the people of Gaza who have been hit by the Israeli airstrikes.
“We are witnessing a massive humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, the destruction of homes and the loss of infrastructure,” he said in a tweet.
Earlier, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet called on Israel to allow humanitarian aid to reach Gaza.
